NEOSHO, Mo. — A Neosho man will spend more than a decade in prison in connection to several armed robberies.
Last week, Richard Hatfield, 62, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of attempted first-degree robbery. Immediately after the plea, Judge David Mouton sentenced hatfield to 15 years in prison on all three counts. Those sentences will run concurrently, capping his sentence at 15 years.
The charges are tied to incidents in November of last year when Hatfield robbed the Dollar General in Racine and the Dollar General on Highway 43 a few days later. In both of those cases, witnesses said Hatfield entered the store, pointed a gun at them and fled.
Newton County detectives spotted him a few days later while conducting surveillance at the Dollar General in Granby. They were able to arrest him at a motel in Neosho.
