STATESVILLE, N.C. — Police have arrested a suspect in a string of violent armed robberies at Dollar General stores, Statesville city officials said.

On Monday around 3 p.m., members of the U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 23-year-old Chance Jalieb Jamison in Mecklenburg County.

City officials previously identified Jamison as a suspect in armed robberies at three Dollar General stores in Statesville earlier this month.

He was served with outstanding warrants issued by the Statesville Police Department, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy, second-degree kidnapping, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

SPD said Jamison was also served with warrants for similar offenses from other local agencies.

Jamison is being held without bond at the Gaston County Jail.

Authorities said the investigation is still active and asked anyone with additional information to contact SPD at 704-878-3406.
