Pakistan currency note found at housing society in Pune district | Pune News


The police have initiated an inquiry after a Pakistan currency note of Rs 20 denomination was found near the lift of a residential society at a village in Pune district on February 8. The residents handed over the currency note to the officials at Bavdhan police station.

According to the police, the paper money was found next to the service lift of Manas Lake Housing Society in Bhukum village, located over 18 kilometres from the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla. Officials said Sahdev Yadav, the residential society chairman, found the currency note.

“After finding the note, the residents of the society approached the Bavdhan police station. They submitted the note to us with an application to probe the matter. We have launched an inquiry. Based on the findings, further course of action will be decided,” said Anil Vibhute, in charge of the Bavdhan police station that comes under Pimpri Chinchwad station.

“The residential society has 84 flats. There is a CCTV camera installed next to the lift, but it has not been functional since last November 24,” said Vibhute.

The police said they would check other CCTV cameras in the area and record statements of the residents.

The police have not registered a First Information Report in the case.
