Pentagon, independent analysts dispute Trump’s claim about USD 350B aid to Ukraine


Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the United States has provided approximately USD 183 billion in aid to Ukraine, with USD 65.9 billion allocated for military assistance.

According to Ukrinform, the Voice of America reported that an inter-agency oversight group, responsible for reporting to the U.S. Congress, revealed the total amount of aid provided to Ukraine.

The Pentagon confirmed to Voice of America that USD 65.9 billion of the total was military aid to Ukraine. Additionally, USD 3.9 billion in military assistance remains unspent.

The report also mentioned that around USD 58 billion of the USD 183 billion in overall aid to Ukraine was spent in the U.S., mainly on developing the U.S. defense industry, replacing old weapons sent to Ukraine with new ones, or through direct investments in the defense sector.

Voice of America reached out to the White House to request clarification on Trump’s comments, specifically asking for any documentation regarding the mathematical discrepancy regarding aid to Ukraine. The White House responded to the inquiry, quoting the comments of the U.S. President.

As reported by Ukrinform, Donald Trump claimed that the U.S. had given Ukraine USD 350 billion, raising questions about where the money went.

In response, President Zelensky clarified that spending on weapons during the war amounted to USD 320 billion, with USD 200 billion provided by international partners.
