Wall Street’s major market averages are on pace to have their worst single day performances in nearly a month as the Nasdaq Composite (COMP:IND), S&P 500 (SP500), and Dow Jones (DJI) each look like they will end well into negative trading territory.
Dow Jones (DJI)
Currently the Dow is lower by 1.1% and the last time the index ended this low on a single day was back on February 13 when the blue-chip average finished -1.3%. At the same time, the downward close that looks to be expected will also erase all gains made by the index since March 20th.

S&P 500 (SP500)
The S&P 500 trades lower by 0.9% heading into the close, and the previous time that the benchmark index concluded this low was back on March 5 when it handed back 1%. Furthermore, Tuesdays decline in the S&P 500 also looks to hand back all market gains that have been accrued since March 20th.
