ACCPD seizes large amounts of currency, weapons and narcotics | City News


The Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Athens-Clarke County Police Department and Georgia State Patrol, executed a search warrant on the 700 block of Mitchell Bridge Road on July 22, 2025, according to a press release. 

The residence of a 47-year-old male was searched and was found to have large quantities of narcotics, weapons and U.S. currency. The search came about from a previous traffic stop investigation where the man was in possession of a pistol and a kilogram of cocaine. 

Officers discovered schedule II pharmaceuticals, three pistols and an AR-style pistol in the residence. $6,000 in U.S. currency, a ballistic vest, multiple extended magazines, hundreds of ammunitions, including 410 and 12-gauge shotgun shells and .50AE caliber pistol ammunition were also recovered.

The man was charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of schedule I-II controlled substances with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.
