GYEONGJU, South Korea, Nov. 1 (Yonhap) — South Korea and China signed seven memorandums of understanding (MOUs) on Saturday, including currency swaps and joint responses to online scams, to broaden cooperation in practical areas, the presidential office said.
The signing took place on the sidelines of President Lee Jae Myung’s summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, during which the two leaders discussed ways to expand cooperation across various sectors.
The MOUs include a Korean won–Chinese yuan currency swap agreement, an MOU on strengthening exchanges and cooperation in trade and services, a joint economic cooperation plan for 2026–2030, and an MOU on the joint promotion of a startup partnership program.
Also signed were agreements on bilateral cooperation to combat voice phishing and online scam crimes and on phytosanitary requirements for the export of fresh Korean persimmons to China.
