IDFC FIRST Bank launches premium FD-backed credit card with zero forex markup

IDFC FIRST Bank has introduced the FIRST WOW! Black Credit Card, a premium variant of its existing FD-backed secured card. The new product offers international spending without forex markup, dual network support, and UPI-linked transactions.

The card combines a physical Mastercard and a UPI-enabled RuPay virtual credit card, both operating under a single credit limit and consolidated billing.

Key features include zero forex markup on international spends, interest-free cash withdrawals until the payment due date (with a flat ₹199 withdrawal fee), and reward points on everyday purchases and eligible UPI transactions. Additional rewards are offered on hotel and flight bookings made through the bank’s app.

The card provides four domestic airport lounge accesses annually, complimentary roadside assistance once a year, and insurance coverage including personal accident protection of up to ₹2 lakh and lost card liability of up to ₹25,000. Customers also receive a trip cancellation cover of up to ₹10,000 on select travel bookings.

Priced at ₹750 plus GST as both joining and annual fee, the charge is waived from the second year onwards for customers spending at least ₹1.5 lakh annually.

The card is available against a fixed deposit starting at ₹20,000, and can be applied for digitally. The bank said the upgraded card aims to widen access to premium credit-card features for customers seeking secured credit options.

The FIRST WOW! Black Credit Card is now open for applications on the bank’s website.
