MUZAFFARGARH: Police arrested a suspect recovering fake currency worth hundred of thousands of rupees from him in a raid in Jatoi tehsil on Sunday.
Police say they were informed that a gang was giving fake currency to poor women against their Benazir Income Support Programme cards.
Acting on the information, a team of Jatoi police station arrested the ringleader, Zafar Iqbal alias Zafari, along with fake currency.
According to Jatoi Station House Officer (SHO) Adnan Shahzad Qureshi, a case has been registered against the suspect.
District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Hasnain Haider said other members of the gang will soon be arrested as police were interrogating the suspect.
