The Philippine Embassy in Norway has confirmed that the licensed foreign exchange provider at Oslo Gardermoen Airport has updated its staff instructions to ensure that Philippine passport holders are no longer denied US dollar exchange services.
In a recent social media post, the Embassy stated that Loomis FGXS expressed its apologies for the inconvenience and concern the incident had caused.

This statement comes in response to journalist Gretchen Ho sharing on social media that a family member was denied the ability to exchange foreign currency.
The Embassy also confirmed that the foreign exchange provider has removed the Philippines from its internal risk list, consistent with the country’s recent removal from both the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Grey List.
“It also confirmed that the Philippines has been removed from its internal risk list, consistent with the country’s recent removal from both the FATF Grey List,” the statement read.
“The Embassy appreciates Loomis FXGS for its prompt corrective action,” it added.
To recall, on October 9, the DFA clarified that the foreign exchange provider was using an outdated FATF list that still includes the Philippines.
However, the Philippines was officially removed from the FATF Grey List in February 2025 and from the EU Grey List in August 2025.
