Hyderabad: The Hayathnagar police arrested an African man who was allegedly cheating people on pretext of supplying Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) on Saturday.
According to the police, Jacques Devalois Kit (42) a native of Cameroon county and resident of Bengaluru contacted people and promised to provide high numbers of FICN in exchange for genuine currency notes.
“Jacques would first give an original currency note claiming it was a fake note and asked the person to buy something in the market. After gaining confidence of the victim, he would call the person to some place on pretext of handing over fake currency bundles. Jacques would then collect original currency notes and escape from the place,” said Hayathnagar Inspector, P Nagaraju Goud.
