Rajasthan: Authorities in Sri Ganganagar have uncovered a massive financial scam worth Rs 1,000 crore, allegedly orchestrated by a youth involved in fraudulent forex trading. The revelation came after the police received a complaint from a victim who claimed to have been scammed of Rs 4.5 crore by an person promising lucrative returns through forex trading.
According to SP Gaurav Yadav, the police began investigating the complaint and traced the mobile number of the accused. Upon further investigation, they found that the same mobile number was linked to multiple cyber fraud complaints, with around five complaints registered against it on the PRATIBIMB portal from different states, primarily Karnataka.

Yadav explained that the scam was more widespread than initially anticipated. “When we looked into the first complaint, we found that funds had been transferred into around 75 different bank accounts,” he said. “Upon further analysis, we found that the first bank account alone had 76,000 complaints corresponding to it.”
The police investigation revealed that the first layer of fraudulent transactions involved a staggering Rs 1,000 crore. Yadav stated, “This initial investigation has uncovered a scam of Rs 1,000 crore. It is possible that, as the investigation deepens, we could uncover a much larger-scale fraud.”
Authorities are now working to track down the accused and trace the money trail across multiple states.
