SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. –South Bend Police were called to the 4100 block of W. Western Avenue Dollar General, for a reported armed robbery, on Friday, March 15th, around 8:00 p.m.
The officers that arrived on scene were provided with a description of the suspect, and his unique, “western-style” firearm.
Officers were able to quickly locate a male matching the suspect’s description in the 2100 block of Oliver Street, after an investigation and analysis of the provided intel.
A search warrant was granted for his vehicle, which several pieces of evidence were collected, including a firearm matching the description, provided by witnesses.
The 53-year-old male, Parnell Nelson, was arrested on multiple preliminary charges, and transported to the Saint Joseph County Jail, where he awaits a formal charging decision from the Saint Joseph County Persecutor’s Office.
