CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Martin Elementary, Cumberland County High School and Phoenix School in the Crossville area were placed on soft lockdown after a nearby Dollar General received a bomb threat, according to the Crossville Police Department. Since the original announcement, officers have cleared the store and lockdowns have been lifted.
A news release from the department said officers received information that there were several notes at the Dollar General Market, located at 1259 Miller Ave., threatening to blow up the building.
The information prompted a response from several agencies, including the Crossville police and fire departments.
The schools were placed on lockdown out of caution. No injuries have been reported, the department said.
