JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) – The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Stone County Sheriff’s Office that occurred Sunday in Perkinston, Mississippi.
A deputy with the sheriff’s office was responding to a domestic violence call near 1543 U.S. 49.
Upon the deputy’s arrival, the subject discharged a weapon striking the deputy in the arm. The deputy then discharged his weapon at the subject, and a brief round of gunfire ensued.
At this time, it is believed the subject succumbed to injuries sustained by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Another individual was found deceased at the scene and her death is believed to be connected to the subject.
