POLKVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at the Dollar General on East Stagecoach Trail around noon on Wednesday, March 20.
During that incident, Cleveland County Schools took immediate security measures. A school system official said several CCS schools, including Burns High School, in the area initiated “an immediate soft lockdown due to an individual reportedly presenting a gun in a threatening manner toward a store associate at a business within the community.”
The CCS official said the suspects “fled the area rather quickly,” but “school officials waited until law enforcement provided confirmation that the suspects were no longer in the community before returning to normal operations.”
The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office released three photos of the suspects in the Dollar General on Thursday.
