SAN ANTONIO – The teenager who was shot dead in a Dollar Tree parking lot on the Eastside has been identified.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the shooting happened just before midnight near E. Houston St. and S. New Braunfels Ave. on April 6.

Police shared that a disturbance erupted in the parking lot of Dollar Tree shortly before the shooting.
A single gunshot was fired, striking the victim in the torso. Emergency medical services attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner identified the victim as DeMarion L. Smith, 18. There are no updates on the arrest of the suspect.
