Temperance Dollar General employees forced behind counter during robbery: Sheriff

TEMPERANCE, Mich. (WTVG) – Authorities in Monroe County are looking for the person who robbed a Dollar General store this weekend.

It happened at the store on Lewis Avenue Saturday around 8:20 p.m.

Deputies said a masked man wearing all black walked in the store, forced store employees behind a counter, and demanded cash from the register.

They didn’t say how much he got away with, but said he ran away from the store and went south.

K9 Arlo responded to the scene and began tracking the suspect.

“After several hundred yards, it is believed the suspect entered a waiting vehicle and left the area,” the agency said in a news release.

No injuries were reported. Both employees told investigators they didn’t see a weapon during the robbery, the sheriff’s office said.
