YOUNGSTOWN A vehicle has crashed into a retail store on Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown.

According to a photo sent in from a person on the scene, a car has crashed into the Dollar General on Mahoning Avenue, located at 3309 Mahoning Avenue.

The Youngstown Police Department told 21 News that several police, fire and ambulance personnel responded to the area. Police say that the incident happened just after 5 p.m. on Monday.

According to the Youngstown Fire Department and the Youngstown Police Department on scene, two people have been taken to the hospital.

According to a crash report, the driver told police she was parking her car at the store and passed out. Security camera footage shows the driver pulling into the parking spot, followed by hitting the gas pedal to go forward.

Responders took the driver to the hospital, where her condition remains unknown. The crash report says she sustained “possible injuries.”

Additionally, the 17-year-old cashier who worked at the store was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries after being struck by the car.
