Toreros notes: USD will try to win three in a row for the first time this season. The Toreros are coming off an impressive 31-13 win over Dayton. Thanks to five sacks, USD held the Flyers to minus-6 yards rushing. The running backs gained just 13 yards on 22 carries. Dom Nankil (Mater Dei Catholic) completed 16 of 23 for 215 yards and two TDs with no interceptions.
Beacons notes: Valpo has been blown out in four of its PFL losses. Average PFL score: Opponent 39.4, Valpo 10.8. The Beacons average 259.3 yards in total offense, 121st out of 126 FCS teams. USD averages 355.7 yards, 65th in the nation. Quarterback Rowan Keefe has thrown 11 interceptions and just four TDs. He’s coming off one of his better games, completing 17 of 26 for 225 yards and one TD with no interceptions in a 43-14 loss to Presbyterian.
