$22 Million to be Invested in Internet and Infrastructure for Henderson

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is celebrating the success of career and technical education with nearly $22 million in investments. The Kentucky Governor made the announcement at Henderson County High School’s Career and Technical Unit.

Officials say Kenergy was awarded $10.2 million to bring high-speed internet to businesses and homes in Henderson and Daviess Counties. We’re told Kenergy will be matching that investment.

Governor Beshear says the investment will affect 2,353 homes and business in Henderson County and 1,221 homes and businesses in Daviess County.

He also announced that a $700,000 investment for a 1-million-square-foot building pad will head to Henderson County. That money will be used at an industrial park for future development.

“People aren’t looking at the coasts anymore. They’re looking at places like Kentucky to set up. Every new announcement we have makes it more likely that one of these talented young people stay and work in Kentucky,” says Governor Andy Beshear.

These investments follow a $3.9 million investment made in 2022 to improve the high school’s technical unit.

Following his tour of the facility, Governor Beshear says the students and their passion are what stick out the most to him.
