Denmark Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Tuesday said that Denmark will provide 130 million euros ($140.6 million) in guarantees to support Danish companies investing in Ukraine’s defence industry.

According to The Kyiv Independent, the Danish government will launch a new initiative involving a state-backed guarantee through the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO).

This guarantee will cover up to 70% of Danish companies’ investments in Ukraine’s defence sector, totaling 1 billion Danish kroner ($140.6 million), added the report.

The Nordic country has taken the lead in providing military support to Ukraine by investing in its defence industry, establishing the “Danish model” for purchasing arms from Ukrainian producers.

Svyrydenko said the new measure would help reduce investment risks and motivate Danish manufacturers to collaborate with Ukraine’s defence sector, allowing them to leverage Ukrainian expertise, innovation, and the real combat testing of military technology.

“EIFO is well known to Danish business, as they are already actively supporting both their country’s and Ukrainian businesses with this tool,” The Kyiv Independent quoted the minister as writing on Facebook.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Copenhagen has provided approximately $7.5 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
