Franklin Templeton has made funds managed by Putnam Investments available to UK investors today (6 March), over a year on from its acquisition of the company for $925m in January 2024.
The Boston-based firm manages $121bn in assets under management across 27 strategies, which are overseen by a team of over 75 investment professionals.

Most of it funds specialise in US equities, which Franklin Templeton’s UK country head Andrew Ashton hopes to market to a European audience.
“US equities have become an increasingly important component of client portfolios in the UK, driven by the robust and diverse nature of the US market,” he added.
“Investors are seeking more diversified exposure to high-growth sectors and companies, and Putnam Investments’ range of actively-managed strategies provide a compelling way to tap into this potential.”

Matt Harrison, head of Americas, Europe and the UK, said making Putnam’s funds available to UK investors will increase the firm’s global reach.
“Franklin Templeton’s acquisition of Putnam Investments last year was an excellent marriage of strong investment capabilities with a very broad and deep distribution footprint across the globe,” he said.
“Building upon Putnam’s strong presence in the US, we want to leverage Franklin Templeton’s extensive local presence across Europe and the UK to give clients a wider choice from Putnam’s compelling investment strategies.”
