At Least 5-6 NFL Teams Reportedly Interested in Trading for Cowboys’ Micah Parsons

Multiple teams are reportedly lining up to make a run at superstar pass-rusher Micah Parsons should the Dallas Cowboys make him available via trade.

During an appearance Thursday on Get Up, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler said the following about Parsons’ trade interest and where things stand between him and the Cowboys:

“I’m told there are at least five or six teams that would be interested if Dallas is even willing to do it, including possibly in his own division, by the way. But Dallas has shown no willingness to move him. I haven’t talked to anybody in Dallas who expects him to be outside of the team this year.”

Last week, Parsons took to X to declare that he had officially requested a trade out of Dallas:

As part of the post, Parsons wrote that he had taken part in informal contract negotiations with the Cowboys, but when he wanted to make his agent part of the talks, the Cowboys essentially ghosted him and refused to have further discussions.

Parsons, 26, is preparing to enter the final year of his rookie contract this coming season, and is scheduled to play under the $24 million fifth-year option exercised by the Cowboys.

Originally the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft out of Penn State, Parsons has been everything the Cowboys could have hoped for and more.

He was the 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons and is a two-time First Team All-Pro.

Parsons has also finished in the top three of Defensive Player of the Year voting three times, and he is only the second player in NFL history, along with Hall of Famer Reggie White, to record 12 or more sacks in each of his first four seasons.

Last season, injuries limited Parsons to 13 games, but he was still among the NFL’s most dominant pass-rushers on a per-game basis, finishing with 12 sacks.

Thus far, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been dismissive of the impact of Parsons requesting a trade, telling reporters it was “part of negotiation.”

However, Jones also told reporters he is “absolutely not” confident the Cowboys will have Parsons in the fold when the 2025 regular season starts on Sept. 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
