Dow Gains 100 Points as Post-Fed Rally Continues


Stocks are crawling higher to end Thursday’s trading after a back-and-forth session.

The Dow and S&P 500 are rising after a big day for stocks on Wednesday. The Nasdaq is about flat, shaking off earlier losses.

The 10-year Treasury yield is below 4% just weeks after it breached 5%, loosening financial conditions in the economy.

Stocks were mixed, with the Dow advancing 0.3%. Adobe shares came under pressure, while Moderna’s rose.

Small-caps climbed, with the Russell 2000 up 2%. Bank and other financial shares advanced. All three major indexes are on track for weekly gains.

Global stocks surged. Indexes in Australia, Hong Kong and South Korea all added more than 1%. The Stoxx Europe 600 index rose by nearly 1%, breaking a two-day losing streak.

The dollar weakened against a range of other currencies. Commodities rallied, with gold climbing and benchmark U.S. oil futures up 3%.
