Cam Ward will not be a New York Giant.
On Tuesday morning, NFL Network reported that the Tennessee Titans, who hold the No. 1 pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft, intend to keep the pick and take the Miami quarterback instead of trading down for a haul.

“There was real trade interest,” wrote NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. “But as one team said, ‘They never opened the door.’” All eyes on Cam Ward.
This comes after months of speculation that the Giants — who are as desperate as any team for a long-term QB answer — would trade up for Ward. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday that new Titans GM Mike Borgonzi rejected a “package of picks” from the Giants that would have included a third-rounder this year.
As it stands, the only way Giants general manager Joe Schoen can guarantee he gets a QB is if he takes Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders with the No. 3 pick. Most scouts believe Sanders, 23, is closer to a Day 2 prospect than Ward, so he might not be worth the risk. The Giants are now widely expected to take Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter with their first pick before trading back into Round 1 to take Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe or another signal caller.
Let’s see how it all shakes on Thursday in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
