Thief sneaks Pokemon trading cards while store owner is in bathroom: Avon Lake police blotter


AVON LAKE, Ohio

Theft: Walker Road

On January 20, a man stole about $170 worth of Pokémon trading cards while the store owner was in the restroom.

Fraud: Lakewood Drive

A victim came to the station to report getting scammed out of $1,000 on January 30. He said his computer was compromised and it prompted him to call a number, which began the scam. Money was deposited in several bit coin machines.

OVI: Forecastle Court

On January 31 around 4:40 am, an officer observed a driver pull into an unknown driveway with car’s lights off. Due to the suspicious activity, the officer approached the driver, who was arrested and cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
