UK King’s Daughters announced a contribution of $533,000 in matching funds to support students pursuing medical-related degrees at several local colleges and universities. According to a press release, a spokesman for the company said, “Investing in the future of our region is vital to ensuring exceptional healthcare for our friends, families, and neighbors.”
The matching funds add to recent grants from Kentucky’s Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund, established by the Kentucky General Assembly in 2023 as a public–private partnership to help grow and sustain the state’s healthcare workforce.
UK King’s Daughters’ matching contributions will support students at the following institutions:
* Ashland Community & Technical College — $108,000 to assist students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Radiography, or a Registered Nurse (RN) degree.
* Kentucky Christian University — $159,000 to assist students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
* Morehead State University — $266,000 to assist students pursuing one of three programs: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Radiography.
“Through these investments, UK King’s Daughters reaffirms its commitment to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals and strengthening access to quality care across eastern Kentucky and the surrounding region,” Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer Jamie Parsons, FACHE, CHHR, SHRM-SCP, said.
