Dollar General Donates Over 1.2 Million Pounds of Food in Arkansas to Fight Hunger – KVOM 101.7

Dollar General says it donated more than 1.2 million pounds of food in Arkansas during the first seven months of 2026 through its partnership with Feeding America.

The donations supported four Feeding America affiliates serving the state, including Arkansas Foodbank, River Valley Regional Foodbank, Northwest Arkansas Food Bank and the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas.

The announcement comes as Dollar General recognizes Hunger Action Month in September and continues a national partnership with Feeding America aimed at reducing food insecurity.

Arkansas Foodbank serves communities across central and Southeast Arkansas, giving the statewide donation effort relevance to residents and hunger-relief organizations throughout the region.

The 1.2 million pounds represents a statewide total and does not indicate that the full amount was distributed to any one food bank or community.

Dollar General has worked with Feeding America since 2019 through financial contributions and food donations from stores and distribution centers.

The company announced an additional $1 million contribution to Feeding America earlier this year, bringing its financial support for the organization to more than $6 million since the partnership began.

Dollar General has also reported donating tens of millions of pounds of food nationwide through its food recovery efforts.
