Mary Lou Dollar, 88, of Centennial Road, Bedford, died on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at her residence. She was born on September 15, 1937 in Fredericksburg, a daughter of the late Harvey and Grace (Baughman) Glass. On August 15, 1953 in Winchester, VA, she married John H. Dollar and he preceded her in death on May 2, 2002. She is survived by a daughter: LuAnne Burkett of Friends Cove; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Ethel Walker of Florida. She was preceded in death by a son, Duane Dollar, five brothers, and three sisters.
Mary Lou operated a dairy farm with her husband, John in Friends Cove for many years until her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed singing, baking Christmas cookies, gardening, and plastic canvas needlepoint. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to her grandson, Dan and his wife Melissa for the love and care shown to Mary Lou.
