Key points to watch in Auburn vs. Baylor
Both Auburn and Baylor have plenty to prove early on in this one. Auburn hired Alex Golesh from South Florida as their new head coach, who brings one of the top offensive playbooks in the country, with 40.5 points last season. For Baylor, this is a “prove it” year for head coach Dave Aranda, who made a massive splash in the transfer portal with former 5-star QB DJ Lagway committing.
| Auburn vs Baylor | Auburn | Baylor |
|---|---|---|
| Moneyline: | 73% | 28% |
| Spread: | -7.5 (49%) | +7.5 (52%) |
| Total: | Over 58.5 (52%) | Under 58.5 (49%) |
Sticking with Lagway, the QB matchup between him and Byrum Brown should be a fun one. Lagway steps into a Baylor offense that ranked first in the Big 12 last season in passing yards under Aranda’s offense. As for Brown, he’s one of the elite dual-threat QBs in the nation coming off a 3,100+ passing-yard, 1,000+ rushing-yard, and 42-total-touchdown season in 2025.
Arch Manning, Texas ready for deep run
Although Texas and Texas State are at different levels of the college football world, this is another QB duel to watch. Arch Manning is deemed a preseason Heisman finalist by many analysts with the transfer portal haul they brought in with Cam Coleman, Hollywood Smothers, and Raleek Brown.
For Texas State, Brad Jackson was tremendous in his first season as a full-time starter with 3,224 pass yards, 744 rush yards, 21 pass TDs, and 17 rush TDs.
| Texas vs Texas State | Texas | Texas State |
|---|---|---|
| Moneyline: | 99% | 3% |
| Spread: | -30.5 (48%) | +30.5 (54%) |
| Total: | Over 59.5 (50%) | Under 59.5 (50%) |
Texas’s -30.5-point spread on college football prediction markets is one of the top-5 largest spreads of all late afternoon games in Week 1.
New-look Oklahoma State ready to turn heads
After leading North Texas to the number one offense in the country in 2025, Eric Morris accepted the Oklahoma State coaching job and landed a top-25 portal class in his first offseason. That includes 19 players from North Texas, including 4-Stars Drew Mestemaker (QB), Caleb Hawkins (RB), and Wyatt Young (WR). All three finished top-5 last season in yards at their respective positions.
| Oklahoma State vs Tulsa | Oklahoma State | Tulsa |
|---|---|---|
| Moneyline: | 83% | 18% |
| Spread: | -13.5 (53%) | +13.5 (48%) |
| Total: | Over 58.5 (51%) | Under 58.5 (49%) |
There is potential in this one for Oklahoma State to run with it, considering that Tulsa was a bottom-tier defense in the American Conference last season.
How does Kalshi work?
Kalshi is a sports prediction market with event contracts offered all college football season, including game lines, props, futures, and more. For game lines specifically, the team with the higher price is favored to win. All winning event contracts settle at $1, with your profit being the difference between the trading price and $1.
Using the 49% price for Auburn to cover -7.5 points on the spread, you’d net $.51 in profit if they cover the points.
