Asian massage parlor in Somerset raided; woman accused of sexual trafficking


The Lotus Flower Body Work Asian massage parlor in Somerset was raided July 8 and a woman arrested on charges of sexual trafficking.

Yuehong Wang, 53, who listed the same 1680 GAR Highway home address as the massage parlor, was arrested in the raid by Somerset Police detectives, United States Naval Criminal Investigative Service special agents, and Connecticut State Trooper Frederick Jones and a K-9 partner.

The arrests came after an investigation begun in March following concerns of possible human trafficking.

Wang was charged with trafficking of a person for sexual servitude, deriving support from prostitution, two counts of performing sexual conduct for a fee, aiding and permitting a nuisance, and keeping a house of ill fame.

Also seized was $51,444 in U.S. currency and several ledgers and other evidence related to the business.

During the investigation, detectives identified an associated location in Tyngsborough, and detectives launched an investigation in their jurisdiction after working in conjunction with Somerset detectives.

Somerset police said Detective Donald Cormier led the investigation.

“We would also like to acknowledge and thank Officer Fuming Chen of the Plymouth Police Department for his invaluable assistance in providing translation services during the execution of the search warrant,” Somerset police stated. “His support was critical in facilitating communication with individuals encountered at the scene.”
