USD can claim share of PFL title with Saturday win, help

History: USD leads 10-0. The Toreros routed Stetson 45-6 last season.

Toreros notes: USD can secure a share of the Pioneer Football League title with a win over Stetson and a Drake loss to Morehead State. It would be the Toreros’ record 13th conference championship. USD is riding a four-game winning streak, the wins coming by a combined 68 points. The offense has been hot during the streak, averaging 35.7 points per game. Converted from wide receiver to running back this season, Adam Criter has rushed for 851 yards and 11 TDs. Dom Nankil (Mater Dei Catholic High School) has thrown for 1,843 yards and 13 TDs with just two interceptions. Linebacker Tre Moore, head coach Brandon Moore’s son, is second on the team in tackles (55) and first in sacks (6).

Hatters notes: Stetson has lost four straight by a combined 106 points. The Hatters are giving up 38.8 points per game. Dual-threat quarterback Chris Stevenson passed for 134 yards and a TD plus rushed for 71 yards and a score in last week’s 32-31 overtime loss to Valparaiso.
